When is 96 dpi a better choice over 300 dpi

When is 96 dpi a better choice over 300 dpi

Some folks have asked me why I package to sell some of my AI related work as 96 dpi rather than the 300 dpi I usually offer with my artwork and created graphics. I realise this is what most folks are used to, and I want to share this video I found which explains a confusion many people have.

It will also help you understand why I choose to allow you to make the custom changes on the commercial use graphics I generate, in a nutshell, the less I manipulate the image before you get access to it, the clearer it will be for you to manipulate with your choice of editors, whether that be photoshop or Affinity, or simply because you might only be using it for web related images. I leave the choice to you, the consumer.

Granted I do at times take the extra step to change or manipulate some of the generated images myself, but as mentioned, I can offer some of these at a better price to you, if I let you create the way you want, without me manipulating the outcome.

So on to this video from Tony, I think he explains it perfectly.

Stepping Up To The Times! and a Freebie

Whether you are a business entreprenuer, a school teacher, carpenter or an artist, the times we live in mean it is essential to find other means of financial flow. How do you do that when there is no money coming in currently. Good question. You don’t really need money to start finding your passion online, and turning that passion into creating something great.

I have been involved in many givaways over the years, called by many different names. I have participated in PLR givaways, scrapbooking blog trains, book givaway blog hops, even recipe hops and tutorials hops. Some of these have had their ups, and some have had their down sides, but one thing I noticed they all had in common, not everyone was ready when they were supposed to be there. With maybe the exception of JV marketing type givaways, most blog trains and blog hops had “missing pieces” in the way of participants. I am not really sure why this phenomena occurs, but it can be both annoying and frustrating to both the hosts, and the followers. I stopped doing blog trains for this reason, and also because it usually required placing a list of people participating, including their links on your website or blog, (in order for the train/hop to keep moving) and inevitably there were always late arrivals, or no shows, or links that were broken initially, oh well, you get the picture.

I have been in several marketing/business givaways recently, and they have been great, but I really missed hosting my own as I once did, so I decided to do it again. That is where the CMA Work From Home Success Givaway comes in (whew long title).

The difference is in 2 aspects:

1: The way the submission and gifting system will work, all taken care of from one page, no sign ups, just click on a gift and go to each persons landing page. This also enables the pubic to find it too, better SEO, as nothing about the givaway is hidden behind a sign up or login page (also, if you are a participant and you miss the train when it takes off, so to speak, you have missed the train) and

2: I want to include gifts that will help a variety of people.

That last thing means, most GAWs are centered around a theme of some sort, for instance, a marketing GAW might be more about SEO, building your business, Podcasting, etc, and this is awesome, because these are all tools we should probably be learning in the current world I spoke of. Some focus on health, well being etc, and this is also the cat’s pajamas (I have always wanted to say that) There were themes specifically for scrapbooking, giving away kits and clip art for fun and home use, but what about now, many folks can use this kind of resource for a home business etc that they can or will start. The point I am making is Givaways are not, and should not be limited to one niche at a time anymore. There are marketers, and business services using and needing graphics, as well as they need lists, and planners, journals and more. In todays world, all these things are suddenly colliding, and if you don’t see it, take a further look. Our world is going digital, now more than ever before, and it will only get more digital as time goes on (KDP, Amazon Kindle, recipes, help books, how-to’s, crafts, etc etc). It does not even have as much to do with our current world catastrophe, it is just the way we are heading. In 1967 I went to a world fair in Canada and saw the future! They were showing us how in 50 years we were going to be speaking to our loved ones from 1000 miles or more away, over a screen that we could see eachother in and talk freely. People were very skeptical, but hey, look where we are, right were they said we would be!

Sure, we may go back to a somewhat normal life someday, but the world has already changed, and we need to keep moving with it if we don’t want to be left behind, and getting tools that can help people start a new life, an independant life working from home, is what this is all about. How satisifying for all is that! All anyone needs to start is a blog (you can get those for free too) and some help and determination, so as my favorite TV character always says, ALLONS-Y (look it up)

Also, what would a blog post be without a freebie……
